Sensor Manager for Adaptive Real-time Transmission (SMART)
SMART is a system developed for enabling real-time transmission of high throughput data from sensors located offshore using a wireless communication network. The system was designed to continuously monitor the bandwidth of the wireless network and make real-time adjustments to the throughput of the sensor data being transmitted. SMART is able to counteract the bandwidth variability of the wireless communication network and maintain low data latency.
Work on SMART was funded by the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
